About Austin Convention Center
The Austin Convention Center sits downtown at 500 E. Cesar Chavez St and is closed for construction as part of UnconventionalATX, a $1.6 billion project that will grow rentable space from 365,000 to 620,000 square feet, with proposals now taken for 2029 and beyond. During the closure, its two parking garages at 201 East 2nd Street and 601 East 5th Street stay open. The existing building covers six city blocks, with five contiguous exhibit halls totaling 247,052 square feet of column-free space that fit 1,289 booths of 10 by 10 feet, plus 54 meeting rooms, show offices and a 40,510-square-foot ballroom. Catering, concessions and alcohol service are exclusive to the in-house company, ACC Catering. Wireless internet is complimentary throughout, backed by redundant high-speed access that can burst to 10 Gbps. Capital Metro's MetroRail stops right next to the center, and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is eight miles away. Exhibitors order services through an online portal and follow posted floor plan rules, including two freight-free aisles in each hall and a preliminary floor plan due one year before the first contract day. The venue is LEED Gold EB certified. Rated 4.4 from 3,674 Google reviews, 2,165 of them five stars.
